Ethical Standards for ProxyTool

At ProxyTool, we believe powerful technology comes with responsibility. Here's how we ensure our client is built and used ethically and transparently.

Security by Design

ProxyTool's kernel-level driver is EV code-signed. We encrypt all proxy connections and protect against DNS leaks, IP leaks, and traffic fingerprinting.

Full Transparency

We openly share how our technology works and how data flows through the client. No hidden processes, no background data collection.

Privacy First

We never log, inspect, or store the contents of traffic routed through ProxyTool. Your data stays your data.

Responsible Use Policy

Our acceptable use policy prohibits illegal activity, harassment, fraud, and any abuse of proxy infrastructure.

Data Privacy & Zero-Logging

ProxyTool operates under a strict no-logging policy. The client never inspects or stores your traffic:

  • We do not inspect, log, or store the content of your traffic
  • Connection metadata is used only for routing and displayed locally in the traffic monitor
  • We do not sell, share, or monetize any user data
  • DNS requests are resolved securely with full leak protection
  • The kernel driver processes traffic locally — nothing is sent to our servers

ProxyTool is designed with privacy by default. Encryption is applied at every layer, and the client runs entirely on your device.

Acceptable Use Policy

ProxyTool is built for legitimate use cases — web scraping, market research, security testing, ad verification, geo-testing, and privacy protection. The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Any illegal activity under applicable law
  • Unauthorized access to systems or networks
  • Distribution of malware, spam, or phishing content
  • Harassment, stalking, or threatening behavior
  • Fraudulent transactions or identity theft
  • Circumventing security measures for malicious purposes

Accounts found violating these policies will be suspended immediately. Repeated violations result in permanent bans.

Kernel Driver & System Safety

ProxyTool uses a Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) kernel driver for traffic interception. We take system safety seriously:

  • The driver is EV (Extended Validation) code-signed for integrity verification
  • It only intercepts traffic you explicitly configure via routing rules
  • No system files are modified — the driver integrates through official Windows APIs
  • The driver can be fully uninstalled at any time, restoring your system to its original state
  • WHQL certification is in progress to eliminate the Test Mode requirement

We believe kernel-level tools carry extra responsibility. Our driver does exactly what it needs to and nothing more.

Have a concern? If you believe ProxyTool is being used in violation of these standards, or have questions about our software, please reach out to ethics@proxytool.io. We take every report seriously.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Ethics isn't a one-time statement — it's an ongoing practice. We commit to:

  • Regular reviews and updates of our ethical guidelines
  • Transparent communication about driver updates and security patches
  • Open dialogue with the community on privacy and security best practices
  • Obtaining WHQL certification to ensure the smoothest possible installation experience

We're building ProxyTool not just as a product, but as a standard for how proxy technology should be developed and used responsibly.
