How to Use IPRoyal Residential Proxies in a Proxy Client

Paste an IPRoyal proxy string into ProxyTool AI and turn the host, port, credentials and app routing into one reviewed action. Manual setup stays available.

How to Use IPRoyal Residential Proxies in a Proxy Client

The slow part of adding a proxy often begins after you receive the credentials. A traditional setup in a client such as Proxifier asks you to move the hostname, port, protocol, username and password into separate fields, then build the routing rule yourself. It works, but every copied field is another place to make a mistake.

ProxyTool keeps that manual path, but it also removes the repetitive part. Paste the complete IPRoyal proxy string into ProxyTool AI and say which app should use it. The assistant extracts the fields, recognizes the protocol, creates the proxy and proposes the app rule for review. One instruction replaces the usual round of copying between windows.

A proxy provider sells the exit IP. A proxy client is the program on your device that decides which app uses that IP. IPRoyal writes about that split in its roundup of proxy client programs and its Proxifier setup. IPRoyal and ProxyTool also work together as partners. Direct purchasing inside the ProxyTool store is planned, but it is not in checkout yet; credentials from an existing IPRoyal account work today.

What you copy from the IPRoyal dashboard

The dashboard hands you a gateway, not a finished route. You need four fields, sometimes with a protocol in front of them:

  • Host. The gateway address, a hostname rather than a single IP.
  • Port. The number next to that host.
  • Username and password. Often one username string that also carries country, city or session settings.
  • Protocol. HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5, whichever IPRoyal shows for that product.

Residential proxies usually keep the same host and change the username when you want another country or a new session. You do not create a second proxy in the client for every city.

Add it by hand

Open Proxies, choose Add Proxy, and type the fields in. Give it a plain name such as "IPRoyal Residential". Run the check before you attach an app. It confirms the protocol, the login and the exit country. If the country is wrong, the username parameter from IPRoyal is the place to change, then run the check again.

Then add a rule. Pick the app, or a host, and set the action to that proxy. Leave the default rule on your normal connection, so only the apps you named go out through the residential pool. The same proxy can feed one browser in one country and a scraper in another, with two rules and one set of credentials.

ProxyTool does this on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. The credentials stay the ones IPRoyal gave you.

Or paste the proxy string

The faster path is the string the dashboard already shows. It might look like http://user:pass@host:port, socks5://host:port:user:pass, or a bare host:port:user:pass. Paste it into ProxyTool AI and say what you want, for example: "Add this IPRoyal residential proxy and route Chrome through it."

One string is enough. Several strings work the same way: paste the list and ask for those proxies to be added. The assistant reads host, port, username, password and protocol, names the proxy, and proposes the rules. Nothing is applied until you confirm.

That is the whole integration. There is no separate IPRoyal plugin to install. The provider string is the integration.

Why this is faster than the usual Proxifier setup

With the usual manual workflow, five proxy fields and the routing rule are separate steps. A typo in the hostname or a username parameter can leave you testing the wrong thing. ProxyTool AI treats the complete proxy string as one input and the desired app routing as one instruction. You still see the result before it is applied, but you no longer have to retype the configuration.

Residential proxies, then the app

Residential proxies are the right pool when a site should see a normal consumer connection. IPRoyal's residential product is the one to paste when that is the job. ISP, mobile and datacenter endpoints from the same account are just other strings, added the same way, and pointed at other apps with other rules.

A proxy client is what keeps those choices apart. The browser can use a sticky residential session while everything else stays on your own IP.

When the store is there

If direct IPRoyal purchasing goes live, the purchase can sit next to the rest of the ProxyTool balance, and the endpoint still lands in the same proxy list. Until then, use the credentials you already pay IPRoyal for. The manual fields and the pasted string both end at the same rule.

The partnership is shown on the IPRoyal partner entry; the store status there is marked coming soon.
